Rittner Horn, Renon/Ritten – panoramic views The Rittner Horn probably is the most beautiful lookout mountain in the entire Alpine region. There is no mountain, which obstructs the view in front of the 2,260 metres high peak towards the dream world of the Dolomites and the glaciers of the Alpine main mountain range.
During the winter, the Rittner Horn is popular as a varied family ski resort: wide slopes prove to be ideal for everyone, but extremists. It is a secret tip for sun worshippers: When the sun disappears down in the valley, winter sportsmen still enjoy the sun a little longer and raise their eyes over to the surrounding mountains, before their last descent, tasting a small glass of prune schnapps with cream on top.
The Rittner Horn, however, is not only interesting for skiing folk. Winter hiking (with or without snow shoes) was discovered as a relaxing and soothing activity. The hilly ground, as well as the well-cared for winter hiking paths spread across the seemingly unlimited Alpine landscape and make a walk into a journey and one of the greatest relaxing experiences.
Cross-country skiing rises to a new dimension on the 35 km long and most beautiful high-Alpine trails in Central Europe … only surpassed by the beauty of the sun, the quietness and the unique panoramic views.
The Ritten ice-rink, a 400 metre long artificial ice rink at an altitude of 1,200 metres above sea level, is known beyond the borders and famous as the fastest open-air rink of the world. Numerous international races take place – with world champions and Olympic heroes participating.
