Bolzano Bozen Jenesien_San Genesio Culture & Wine Town, Ötzi, Porticos & Jenesien
Bozen is not only the provincial capital, but also South Tyrol's cultural centre. Numerous museums, one of them the Ötzi museum, the picturesque Castle Runkelstein, as well as the New Town Theatre invite you to some cultural highlights. Two great cultures, past and future ... give this Alpine town its particular characteristics.
The two grapes types of Lagrein and St. Magdalena are grown near Bozen and are processed by 24 wine cellars, making Bozen a magnificent wine town. During the 'Bozen Wine Tasting' at Castle Maretsch these wines can be tasted during the Lorenzo Night.
Jenesien is situated above Bozen at a sun-touched southern slope at the Tschöggl mountain. Behind the village the Salten mountain stretches out, with one of the most beautiful larch meadows in the Alpine region and an El Dorado for hikers, horse lovers and mountain bikers. So near but yet so far!
