Programme (start on Easter)
Monday: Montiggl Forest Tour We drive through orchards and vineyards in the direction of Lake Kaltern and from there slowly ascend to the Montiggl forest. Across wide forest roads or beautiful tracks, we will finally reach some of the most beautiful lookout points. Noon: Stop at the small Montiggl Lake for something to eat. After a short break, we move on. This is a tour with some extra training in mountain bike techniques. Short information: 700 metres of altitude – 45 km – grade of difficulty: medium
Tuesday: Eislöcher (Ice holes) Today, a special natural phenomenon awaits you. The ice holes are a depression of the size of a football field in the midst of a forest, about 550 metres above sea level. However, we will come across some vegetation, which is usually at home at an altitude of 1,500 metres above sea level, e.g. Alpine roses, larch trees, cranberries etc. Even during the month of May, it is possible to see icicles in the small caves. Short information: 800 metres of altitude – 50 km – grade of difficulty: medium
Thursday: Trudner Horn Across the old railway road, we ride to Truden. From here, we follow the European Distance Hiking Path E5 to the Trudner Horn (1,830 metres) in a nature park of the same name. Ahead of us are a number of wonderful paths through forests, as well as old cart roads for our descent. From the lookout point, you will have a great view across the entire Lowlands from Bozen to Salurn. Short information: 1,700 metres of altitude – 55 km – grade of difficulty: difficult to very difficult Mountain-Bike Time Trail RunSouth Tyrol's first permanent time trial run stretching from Tramin (276 m) to 'Verbrenntes Egg' (1856 m) is a true challenge for mountain-bikers and mountain joggers. The challenge is to surmount 1600 metres of difference in altitude while beating the minimum time. For those who prefer to improve their technique, there's the Bike Park in Tramin: 60 metres of difference in altitude, three levels of difficulty, great challenges.
