Freud, Mayr & HoffensthalSigmund Freud 'Paradise at the Ritten…' as Freud describes it. He celebrated his silver wedding anniversary on 14th September 1911 in Klobenstein. This is where 'Totem and Tabu' was written – one of Freud’s most acclaimed works.
Peter Mayr Born in Siffian at the Ritten mountain, he belonged to the leading group of the Tyrolean freedom fighters of 1809, together with Andreas Hofer
Hans v. Hoffensthal (1877-1914) The Bozen patrician son and doctor lived at the Ritten around the turn of the century. In his novels, his poetry and other writings, he describes the landscape and people of the high plateau and became known in the history of literature as the 'Ritten poet'.
