The Sarntal, a valley with lively traditions and unspoilt countryside, lies at the heart of  South Tyrol. Its special climate, clean mountain air and acid soil at an altitude of between 1600 and 2400 metres create the ideal conditions for the pinus sarentensis to develop its healing properties.

The pinus sarentensis, commonly known as the 'mountain blessing', is one of the oldest plants used for medicinal purposes in the Sarner valley. The Celts exploited its healing properties and the oil is still extracted according to ancient methods.
